Who we are
The Internet Guide is part of Within Reach, a Hangar 75 venture. We help households check whether satellite internet reaches them and help communities find funding.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms:
- your name and email address
- your street address and ZIP code
- your organization and role, if you contact us as a community leader
- your household speed estimate from our calculator, when you ask us to check your address
Your last ZIP and your household estimate are also kept in your own browser's local storage so the site remembers them. That stays on your device; you can clear it any time in your browser settings.
Why we collect it
To check availability at your address and to contact you about internet service, membership and your community.
We don't sell personal information
We never sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Internet providers such as Viasat, only when you ask us to check or set up service.
- Our hosting providers, who store the site and its data for us.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or 24 months after we were last in touch, whichever comes first.
Your choices
You can ask to see or delete your data at any time. Reply to any email from us, or use the Join form with the note "delete my data".
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date at the top.
